DC ACTS is committed to serve the students, families, and communities in the charterschools where our members work and to build a sustainable culture of professionalism in all DC charter schools.
Our Mission
Our Union will honor and protect the rights bargained in every contract, create opportunities for professional advancement, and develop systematic solutions that provide support for all charter school staff. Through collective bargaining, we empower our school communities, create common understanding, and foster school cultures where everyone is crew, not passengers.
Our Purpose
In recognition of their role in the history of the charter school trade union movement in the District of Columbia and in honor of their efforts to establish this organization and fight for the rights of educators in charter schools throughout the District and our nation, former members of the bargaining unit at Chavez Prep Middle School shall be considered honorary members of this organization. In solidarity, we continue this movement towards equity of representation and voice for all charter teachers and staff.
