strength. collaboration. trust.

The Mundo Verde Union continues our school’s mission of equity and sustainability by creating a united voice for our staff which is essential for ensuring an equitable academic and social education for all of our students. We continue our school’s mission to building a sustainable culture through: the STRENGTH that comes from the formation of a collective body of staff, leaders, students, and families; the COLLABORATION between each member and school leaders; and the TRUST we receive from our community for ensuring that our students, community and staff have the resources they need in order to be successful.

Our Mission

Our Union will honor and protect the rights we bargain within our contract, create opportunities for professional advancement, and develop systematic solutions that provide support for our school community. Through our Mundo Verde Union we empower our school community, create common understanding, and foster a school culture where everyone is crew, not passengers.

Our Purpose

In recognition of their role in the history of the charter school trade union movement in the District of Columbia and in honor of their efforts to establish this organization and fight for the rights of educators in charter schools throughout the District and our nation, former members of the bargaining unit at Chavez Prep Middle School shall be considered honorary members of this organization. In solidarity, we continue this movement towards equity of representation and voice for all charter teachers and staff.

Become a Member

Become a part of a community of over 170 charter school teachers and staff who say YES to Union rights for charter school employees.
